MxL76502 - 18V 720KHz 2A Fast-PWM Synchronous Step-Down Converter
The MxL76502 is a fully integrated, high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter that requires a minimum number of external components. It offers a very compact solution with up to 2A continuous output current over a wide input range.
The MxL76502 uses a proprietary constant on-time (COT) control scheme that provides a superior transient response and maintains a constant switching frequency during continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation. The external ramp compensation network enables stable operation with ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output ceramic capacitors. An internal compensated error amplifier in the control loop provides excellent line and load regulation.
The MxL76502 integrates extensive protection functions, including under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown.
The MxL76502 offers two modes of operation, PFM (MxL76502N) and forced PWM—FPWM—(MxL76502A), to suit different applications. PFM mode provides high efficiency at light loads and low standby power. FPWM mode provides low ripple voltage and fast transient, even at light loads.
The converter is available in a small 6-pin SOT23-6L package.
MxL76503 - 18V 720KHz 3A Fast-PWM Synchronous Step-Down Converter
The MxL76503 is a fully integrated, high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter that requires a minimum number of external components. It offers a very compact solution with up to 3A continuous output current over a wide input range.

MxL76505 - 17V, 5A, Synchronous Buck Regulator
The MxL76505 is a synchronous step-down switching voltage regulator capable of delivering up to 5A of load current. The device has a working input voltage range of 4.5V to 17V. Output voltage can be adjusted between 0.6V and 6V.
The MxL76505 can be configured to work in either diode emulation mode (DEM) that improves the efficiency at light loads by lowering the switching frequency or forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) that maintains the same switching frequency regardless of load. Dynamic switching between DEM and FCCM is supported.
The MxL76505 comes in two switching frequency versions, 500kHz and 1MHz. The 500kHz version has less switching loss and supports a higher input-to-output voltage conversion ratio. The 1MHz version supports a smaller output LC filter and is also faster in responding to load transients.
The MxL76505 employs a fixed frequency constant on-time (COT) control architecture. Feedback loop compensation is internal and has been designed to work with an all- ceramic output capacitor bank. Load transient response, both in CCM and DCM, is ultra fast with a properly selected output LC filter. Soft start is programmable via an external capacitor.
Protection features include over-current protection (OCP), and under-voltage protection ( UVP), thermal shutdown and input under-voltage lockout (UVLO).
The MxL7675 is available in a 2mm × 2mm thermally enhanced 10-pin QFN package.
MxL76508 - 18V 700KHz 8A Fast-PWM Synchronous Step-Down Converter
The MxL76508 is a fully integrated, high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter that requires a minimum number of external components. It offers a very compact solution with up to 8A continuous output current over a wide input range.
The MxL76508 uses a proprietary constant on-time (COT) control scheme that provides a superior transient response and maintains a constant switching frequency during continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation. The external ramp compensation network enables stable operation with ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output ceramic capacitors. An internal compensated error amplifier in the control loop provides excellent line and load regulation.
The MxL76508 integrates extensive protection functions, including 2.85V input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), thermal shutdown, input over-voltage protection (OVP), cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and short-circuit protection. An open-drain power good signal indicates that the output is within its regulation voltage range.
The MxL76508 offers three modes of operation, PFM (MxL76508N), UA (MxL76508U), and forced PWM—FPWM—(MxL76508A), to suit different applications. PFM mode provides high efficiency at light loads and low standby power. A mode can operate in DCM at light load and in CCM at higher output power, and the lowest frequency at light load is limited to a frequency not lower than that of the sound wave to avoid buzzing noise. FPWM mode provides low ripple voltage and fast transient, even at light loads.
The converter is available in a small 16-pin 3mm×3mm QFN package.
