PCI Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitters (UARTs) are designed for use in system boards or add-in cards. PCIe UARTs leverage the high-speed and scalable PCI Express interface.
The 4-channel and 8-channel PCIe UARTs have a proprietary master/slave expansion bus interface that enables up to 16 ports on a single x1 PCIe lane. These UARTs are software compatible with the industry-standard 16550 UARTs. These UARTs provide efficient serial expansion for PCs, servers, and embedded platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance in demanding computing environments.
