IDC connectors

The Summit Flat Cable Connector is an IDC (Insulation-Displacement Contact) type. Available as Female part. The IDC connectors are used with flat ribbon cables. IDC (Insulation Displacement Contact) flat cable connectors are connector types, which are used in almost all electronic equipment. For removable connections, the IDC flat cable connectors are able to connect board to board and wire to board.

The advantage of an IDC is that the terminal slots are smaller than the diameter of the conductor. Therefore the insulation of the pressed wires make the electrical contact. IDC connectors are available with different pitch from 1.27mm, 2.0mm and 2.54mm. Products are designed in accordance with CE, ROHS and REACH standard.
