New SANMOTION F5 5-phase stepping motor: more torque in less space

SANYO DENKI has expanded its SANMOTION F Stepping Systems lineup with a new 5-phase stepping motor designed for high-torque, high-accuracy motion in compact equipment. The new SANMOTION F5 motor delivers up to 70% higher torque compared to conventional SANMOTION F5 stepping motors. This enables faster positioning, shorter equipment cycle times and more stable motion in demanding applications where every millimetre, millisecond and Newton metre counts.

At the same time, vibration during operation has been reduced by more than 10%, while positioning error at stop is reduced by approximately 44%. For engineers working on semiconductor manufacturing equipment, conveyor robots, mounting machines or medical equipment, that means smoother motion, more precise stopping and improved machine accuracy.

The motor is also more compact and lightweight. Compared to previous models (*), the overall length has been reduced by up to 10% and mass by up to 8%, supporting more compact equipment designs without giving up torque performance. That is useful when the mechanical design has no room left, which, strangely enough, is almost always the case.
