OLED displays / Organic Light-Emitting Diode displays offer outstanding color quality, contrast, and energy efficiency. Among the various OLED technologies, AMoled (Active Matrix OLED) and PMoled (Passive Matrix OLED) stand out as subcategories, each with unique characteristics, applications, and engineering principles. OLED displays rely on organic compounds that emit light when subjected to an electric current. The core elements of OLED technology encompass organic layers, electrodes and pixel matrix.

OLEDs contain organic semiconductor materials within each pixel, which emit light upon electrical stimulation and consists of an anode and a cathode, that deliver electrical charges to the organic layers. The anode injects holes, while the cathode injects electrons into the organic materials. OLED displays are composed of an array of individual pixels, each functioning independently to emit its own light. This distinctive feature eliminates the need for a separate backlight, contributing to OLED's advantages.
